School This Week

We have to recycle here as there isn't a dump or city dump program. The students collect aluminum cans, smash them, and then send them off to Sitka. Compost is compost and burnables are burned.  Here the students, and staff, are smashing and transporting all of the cans down to the dock to be hauled away. This was a smelly, sticky, and yucky job! We all wore rubber gloves!!
The 4th and 5th graders are studying about the different Native American Groups. While studying about the Sioux/Lakota, they made teepees out of sticks and cloth.
This is our school kitchen. Today we had spaghetti and meatballs.
