Art Projects

We made Oaxacan/Mexican Paper Mache animals. Carson made a Jelly Fish!
The students are making Thanksgiving Cards to send to grandparents.
Here is Carson's Jelly Fish...partially done.
Back to the paper mache animals...
"Oaxacan/Mexican Paper Mache Animals".. BEFORE the paper mache. The students (and staff) formed the animals with paper, cardboard, and wire.

Halloween

Lilian...just being herself! ha!
Shelsea...sitting back and taking it easy. She was a "Golden Globe Award!"...head to toe gold!
We spend all morning doing Halloween crafts. We let them wear their costumes as well... We have one giant party day!
Shelsea and Lilian in the bathroom doing their makeup. Lili wore a Hawaiian Hula outfit.
We had spider webs and spiders all down our hallway. Every time I walked through I was pullin it out of my hair or getting it off of my face! UGH! It felt so real!

Port Armstrong Fish Hatchery

In mid-October, we took a boat over to Port Armstrong for their end of the season "Spawning Party". The trip over was so rough, with 12-15 foot seas. Although it was only for 45 minutes, I was really scared. The photo above shows two of the workers homes there. Like Port Alexander, the homes are all connected with a nice wooden boardwalk.
A photo of the dock and some of the fish tanks. I came over on on the blue/white sail boat. Lili went on the large black/white fish processor at the end.
One of the workers at the fish hatchery spent 4 days building this "ride" for the kids. Even the adults took a turn! I screamed!
Here is another shot of the dock, boats, tanks, and home.

Carson's Birthday

Carson had a really good time for her birthday. She received a lot of nice gifts. One of the kids had his parents fill and heat up their hot tub, as a gift/treat for Carson. So, all the kids went over there for about an hour or so. Thankfully, it was a beautiful sunny day.
Carson turned 14. She wanted me to put 16 candles on her cake, but I didn't. Ha!
