Houses in Port Alexander

Most of the homes in Port Alexander are really cute. There are a few for sale, but virtually none for rent. There is one we'd love to buy-even though it is small, but not quite ready to do that...

We do have the offer to clean out and do needed remodel work on a grandma's house, who passed away last year. It has been sitting empty and hasn't had repairs in a long time. So, Mark has been sorting, organizing, burning, boxing up, weed wacking, etc....However, it is on a great ocean front lot, with an incredible view...and just down the boardwalk from the school....(It is the older, white one with the windows facing the water)

Anyway, we are still living in a large room in the school...with piles of boxes all around us...

More Kayaking in Port Alexander

Here are some more photos of the kids kayaking. I rode in the skiff with the classroom aide. We always take a skiff and two-way radios out. Then, Mark and Nick (my district principal) went with the kids, in the kayaks.

Our New Neighborhood

Port Alexander has new, well-maintained wooden plank boardwalks which connect the houses, school, lodges, and two docks. It is fairly wide..I suppose 3 people could walk side-by-side.

Port Alexander School-Currently Grades 4th-12th

Port Alexander School is a modern, three classroom school with a separate indoor PE area, a kitchen/large lunch-table area, a gym, outside playground, and plenty of opportunities for outside enjoyment.

We have a custodian who comes 2 hours/day, a food service person who cooks breakfast and lunch for all the students, and a classroom aide who helps me with the students who are spread out in the three classrooms.
